We were particularly impressed by the gourmet breakfasts prepared by Zach, with homemade pastries and a delicious bacon and cheese crepe that set the tone for our day. Our room was not onlysuper clean and cozy but also beautifully decorated. Plus, being able to enjoy these meals outdoors while soaking up the serene atmosphere was a good touch. gourmet breakfasts that delight
I felt right at home. Zach and Carrie's warm hospitality shone through, especially with Zach's culinary skills in the kitchen. I savored a variety of meals including gluten-free crepes and good omelets. The home is tastefully decorated, preserving its historical charm while providing modern comforts. I enjoyed lounging in the library, and the chocolate chip cookies left in my room were a good surprise!
The only downside was the muddy parking situation due to the rain. It would have been nice to have gravel in the area for easier access. During peak times, the bathroom could feel a bit busy.

The charm of Open Gates Bed & Breakfast captivated me upon arrival. The decor felt inviting and added to the overall ambiance of warmth. My room, the King Room, was clean and well-maintained, offering a great space to relax. I particularly appreciated the king-size bed. It provided excellent support for my back. Breakfast was a standout feature, with homemade pastries and classic favorites. The bacon was especially delicious. Conversations with Zach, the owner and chef, were enjoyable and he catered to dietary preferences thoughtfully. I did notice that the parking area became muddy due to rain, which could be inconvenient for some. Although my experience was overall positive, the shared spaces felt a bit cramped at times during breakfast hours. Still, the warmth from the staff and the quality of the food made this a wonderful stop during my travels. I look forward to returning.

The parking area suffered from being muddy, likely due to recent rain, which could pose a challenge for those arriving by car. The proximity to the street could lead to some noise during peak hours but generally not disruptive.
